Keeping up with the trends and changes in our volatile healthcare market is a challenge. Membership in the Medical Group Management Association of Mississippi (MGMA of MS) is an excellent way to help you meet that challenge.

There are 4 Membership Categories:

Active member works with one or more physicians engaged in the practice of medicine OR works for an organization whose staff provides management services through a specified agreement for one or more physicians engaged in the practice of medicine. The member's principal role must be one of the following: a) performing managerial duties involving multiple areas; or b) performing administrative tasks involving a single area; or c) providing patient care and also performing significant managerial or administrative tasks.

Allied member works for an association that provides services and/or products for physicians’ offices An Allied member is a non-voting member of MGMA of MS.

Student member is an individual who is a full-time student of a Mississippi college/university and is planning a career in medical management. Student members may not vote and may not hold office.

Life Member may be granted to an Active member in good standing who becomes permanently disassociated from clinic administration and who has been a member of the MGMA of MS for at least fifteen years; or one who retires because of age or disability and who has been a member of MGMA of MS for at least ten years.

As a member of MGMA of MS you will receive the following benefits:

• Reduced fees for at least three meetings per year, featuring timely and informative presentations on topics specifically related to the medical industry in Mississippi;
• A subscription to Magnolia Minutes, a quarterly newsletter that is filled with articles and information you can use in your work;
• Networking opportunities with your colleagues from across the state, who can provide valuable insight and advice about the same challenges and issues you are facing;
• The opportunity to participate in a medical office staff salary survey co-sponsored by MGMA of MS, for which participants receive the results at no charge;
• A membership booklet containing all members by specialty as well as alphabetically. This booklet is a valuable tool in networking with others.
• Automatic inclusion in an email listserve to receive timely updates in the industry and regarding association meetings.

If you have never attended one of our meetings, you may come as our guest! Just contact our Executive Director and tell her you would like to attend as our guest. This will give you an opportunity to experience the informational programs and the networking that MGMA of MS provides.
